International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 worldwide, commemorating the political, social and economic achievements of women. Over the decades, the objectives of Women’s Day celebration have evolved. It has embraced culture and ethnicity to emerge as a celebration of appreciation, respect, and love towards women.
Uniphore’s female brigade organized Women Employee Connect on March 8.
- This monthly event began with a speech on importance and empowerment of women by Harini from the HR team
- Later, the volunteers conducted games where all participated with enthusiasm
- The event concluded with the “Potluck” with some lip-smacking snacks
It is nice to have a special day for women where they are glorified to a point of being honored, awarded, and appreciated. The team also debated around real-life situations surrounding the restrictions within the community which stop aspiring women from breaking stereotypes and taboos. After all, transformation in the thought process is important! Self-respect and mutual encouragement within the community are critical too.
The gang also appreciated the need for learned men and women to encourage women at home. Our mothers, sisters, and wives should be inspired to pursue their dreams and excel in their career. A wholehearted support will boost their self-confidence and will have a transforming impact on their way of life.
Make every day International Women’s Day! Let’s do our bit to ensure that the future for women is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.
