Uniphore’s “Platform Approach”
At Uniphore, our mission is to connect businesses to millions of customers, partners, and employees through sophisticated and reliable mobile technologies. We recognize the enormous potential of mobile devices to revolutionize outreach, and we’re determined to bestow businesses with the power to capitalize on these opportunities. Our groundbreaking Platforms empower our customers to exchange information and conduct business through innovative mobile opportunities.
Voice, SMS, and GPRS applications have unique capabilities to capture and deliver specific types of information. To harness all these benefits, Uniphore’s Platforms combine these three interfaces, creating a spectrum of tools to enhance business operations and customer outreach. All of our platforms can be easily adapted to your business, and integrated them with your pre-existing systems. And they always give you the power to monitor, manage, and manipulate the data that is important to you. We’ll even host the information you gather on the cloud, so you can scale your business easily and affordably.
VoiceNet is our Personalized Voice-based Information Retrieval and Transaction System (PVIT). It uses Vernacular Speech Recognition and Speech Biometrics to enable data exchange and financial transactions.
M-CAS is our Mobile Control & Access System which enables far-reaching data collection tools with SMS, GRPS, and Voice inputs. Businesses use the platform to create forms, define access for users, upgrade applications, and track user activities.
VoiceNet
“Using state-of-the-art Speech technology, VoiceNet empowers users to communicate and transact quickly and securely on any mobile phone."
In emerging markets, businesses encounter a variety of challenges in communicating with their employees and their customers. People in these settings often lack access to a connected computer, live in remote areas, have limited literacy skills, or are restrained by local language. Uniphore is determined to create and provide innovative tools and strategies for businesses to overcome these barriers.
Using state-of-the-art Vernacular Speech Recognition and Speech Biometrics, we invented VoiceNet, a Personalized Voice-based Information Retrieval and Transaction System (PVIT). VoiceNet allows businesses to engage with their employees and clients quickly and securely using their mobile phones. The technology empowers customers to exchange information with companies and complete financial transactions in their local languages and from their homes. They can also listen to important information on demand by calling a hotline, answering a set of questions, and receiving sophisticated responses specific to their individual needs. VoiceNet also enables business employees to access information relevant to their particular responsibilities. They use voice inputs to perform complex reporting, survey administration and data collection
Technology
VoiceNet combines Uniphore’s unique algorithms with Interactive Voice Response (IVR), Automated Speech Recognition (ASR), Voice Biometrics, and Text to Speech (TTS). The result is the ultimate voice communications platform, including: customizable profiles, transactions, information on demand (PULL), alarms (PUSH), interactive conversations, and voice recordings.

Communication of thorough, accurate, and compelling information is critical to the success of every business. However, enterprises often struggle to gather and send data to their clients in cost-effective ways. This is particularly challenging in remote areas, where Internet access and literacy are often lacking.
Uniphore wants to give businesses the power to easily capture and deliver dynamic and interactive information. We created the Mobile Interface to Enterprise Database, or MINED, which uses GPRS applications on mobile phones to share voice and text content amongst business employees and outside customers. Our clients use M-CAS – the Mobile Control and Access System –to control the tasks carried out on these GRPS applications, as well as Uniphore’s Voice applications.
With MINED, businesses use mobile phones as far-reaching data collection tools. At the office, companies create forms with drop-down menus, pictures uploads, text inputs, and voice memos. Field workers then access these customized forms as a GRPS application on any low-end phone, gather the appropriate data, and instantaneously send the information to a centralized database. To target problems with consistency of connectivity, data can be entered both online and offline. Furthermore, phones that don’t have GPRS capability can record data through voice on VoiceNet. At the business end, administrators use M-CAS to define access for users, upgrade applications, add new forms, and track user activities. The usability of M-CAS enables companies to easily manage and scale up their data collection and dispersal activities.
Technology
With any Java-enabled phone, users enter data, voice, or picture inputs into pre-created forms through a GPRS Application. Phones that are lacking GRPS capabilities instead use Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) to gather the same information through spoken surveys. All this content is gathered and stored in MINED. Businesses then access, alter, and add to this database of information through M-CAS. As a platform, M-CAS has the following capabilities:
