Dr. Pat T. Pattabhiraman has always been fascinated with the uses of Natural Language Processing and Speech Technology. Ever since he completed his engineering from IIT Madras, he has been drawn towards this field. Furthermore, this is also the reason he worked on a doctoral thesis in Computing Science from the Simon Fraser University., which is now part of the course material at the University of Strasbourg. Dr. Pat has had the opportunity to lead teams at Conversay in developing critical components of speech recognition engines and text-to-speech systems. These products were deployed successfully in more than a staggering 8 million devices, available in 20 languages.
Dr. Pat is a regular on the AIR conference circuit, presenting papers and editing special issues of Computational Intelligence Journal on Natural Language Generation. He is also a mentor with Cyberlaunch, which masterminds startups in machine learning and information security. Prior to working at Uniphore, he had a successful stint with Seagate Software (presently SAP Canada); where he was an important contributor of multiple modules, in addition to architecting a natural language interface to Crystal Reports.
Dr. Pat is equally stirred by music, and loves to be a part of Art and Culture festivals as this takes him closer to the powerful expressions of talented artists.
