Uniphore Software Systems, a leading software-based solutions provider in the Speech Recognition space consists of numerous teams operating across Chennai, Bengaluru, and Singapore. In our last publication, we introduced you to Dr. Pat T. Pattabhiraman, Senior Vice-President – Core Technologies. This week, let’s hear from Srinivasa, as he talks us through what it’s like to be leading a customer-facing team.
As the Principal Manager, Srinivasa is the go-to-guy in the Professional Services team. With close to 14 years of experience in Contact Centre technologies, Srini (as he is fondly called) specializes in voice tech and has built efficient and world-class delivery teams, both onsite and offsite during his earlier stint. Srinivasa has spent close to 13 years with TCS, donning various roles in development, implementation, delivery and pre-sales teams specializing in BFSI. Known for his CRM skills in Uniphore, Srini is responsible for managing a considerably large team of Implementation Engineers, Speech Engineers, and Business Analysts.
Srinivasa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Andhra University and an Advanced Strategy program from IIM Calcutta. He also holds a PMP certification.
You would often find him juggling between various client calls, trying to strike a balance with the daily deliverables, which we think he does flawlessly. For the next few minutes, let’s hear it from Srini.
Tell us about yourself
I have been associated with voice technologies for the last 13 years working across different domains and functions. I like solving business problems of customers by closely working with teams towards delivering solutions. My hobbies are reading history and exploring new places. I am a nature lover and love long treks.
Tell us about your function and its responsibility
The Professional Services function has the responsibility of deploying and implementing Uniphore’s Speech Recognition based products and solutions aligned to customer requirements, with a planned and smooth execution cycle. In many executions, we also drive business outcomes by owning the actionable for customers to implement. As the frontline of the organization, the PS team also plays a very important role in passing the customer feedback about our products to Product Management team, thereby keeping the product and its features relevant to the market.

The team is a right mix of young and experienced colleagues, always energetic to learn new things! Being a customer facing team, the team always ensures on-time and smooth delivery.
What do you think about the future of Speech recognition technology? How do you see your function helping Uniphore scale up?
Despite an increase in the number of channels for consumers to communicate with brands, voice support continues to be the mainstream medium for customers to reach enterprises and vice versa. The earlier Speech Recognition solutions more focused towards English, Speech recognition today continues to grow at a higher pace more so for non-English conversations.
As a Professional Services organization, deploying Speech Recognition solutions for customers from various industries to drive business benefits, will forge new deals and partnerships. Since our team is at the core of Uniphore’s operations, the PS team will offer valuable insights both internally and for our customers.
