Welcome to Uniphore, Emotion Research Lab!

As we kick off the new year, I’m excited to announce that Uniphore has acquired an early emotion AI leader, Emotion Research Lab. Let me briefly explain why.

Both businesses and consumers have been reshaped by the pandemic and the use of video has exploded across a range of applications.  More and more communications across the Enterprise are moving from a voice only to a video plus voice hybrid platform as part of new business processes and societal realities.

Thus, in order to capitalize on these trends and to continue delivering strong value for both existing and new customers, Uniphore has brought these two powerful technologies together to support enhanced customer experiences as well as new sales, marketing and HR use cases.  To our knowledge, there is no other company in the world that will have the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience with voice and video AI, automation, and machine learning.  By bringing our technologies together, we’ll be able to transform the enterprise market in ways not previously thought possible.

And not only will our technologies be better together, so will our teams.  I first met the Emotion Research Lab team last year and was very impressed by the two co-founders, Maria and Alicia and their vision to grow their deep tech AI company out of Valencia, Spain.  They had a clear vison and had a strong track record of success for a wide range of customer applications.  As I learned more about them and saw what their technology was capable of doing, I knew they would be an excellent fit to join us in transforming the Enterprise.

The addition of Emotion Research Lab’s facial emotion recognition software to Uniphore’s platform will enable the use of AI, deep learning, and automation to analyze, extract, and make recommendations based on real-time data from not just what is being said, but an individuals’ facial expressions and eye movement in a variety of new applications and use cases.

One thing is certain: the future of all enterprise conversations will be driven by AI and we are now one step closer to being able to completely transform the enterprise in new and innovative ways.

We are thrilled to have this team join us and we will be working together on our integration plans over the coming weeks.  In the longer term, we have no doubt that this acquisition will dramatically expand Uniphore’s opportunities with new and exciting innovations in the future. I’m looking forward to the epic journey ahead.
